Questions frequentes
What thickness of self-leveling screed is suitable?
The thickness depends on the condition of the base and the type of flooring. Typically, self-leveling screeds are applied from about 3 to 30 mm, but for very uneven floors, system solutions with a greater total thickness can also be used. After an inspection, we can determine the exact thickness required for your case.
After how long can flooring be laid on the self-leveling screed?
Drying time depends on the type of mixture, the thickness of the layer and the conditions in the room. In most cases, light loads are possible after 24 hours, and laying of final flooring is recommended after 3 to 7 days. For thicker layers or specific materials, the period may be longer.
Can self-leveling screed be applied over an old tiled floor?
Yes, in many cases it is possible to apply self-leveling screed over stable and well-bonded old tiles. They need to be sound, well-cleaned and primed with a special primer for smooth substrates. However, in the case of loose or hollow tiles, it is recommended to remove and prepare the substrate from scratch.
